Let’s face it, many of us cannot afford to buy a Ferrari F40. The closest many of us get to owning one of Ferrari’s greatest hits, is the Burago model residing on our shelves. However, one lucky fan in the UK has just collected a genuine piece of F40 memorabilia, and all for the best possible cause.
A red bucket seat, straight out of a genuine Ferrari F40, has been auctioned off by UK Ferrari specialists DK Engineering. The winning bid of 10,001 GBP ($10,552NZ), will be sent to British NHS (National Health Service) Charities, who are right in the thick of combating COVID-19 in the UK.
The seat was donated by James Cottingham of DK Engineering. It is a genuine driver seat straight out of a real Ferrari F40. The seat itself is a European-specification model, made from the composite carbon and Kevlar and upholstered in the correct Nomex fabric trim, in bright red of course.
While it would make the ideal spare seat for the discerning F40 owner, it also isn’t hard to imagine the new owner either making the coolest office chair in existence, or the centerpiece of the coolest racing simulator. Either way, the new owner will have infinite bragging rights for years to come.
