Testimonials

"I have had a yearning to purchase a vintage or classic car for a number of years and have read Classic Car magazines and trolled internet auction sites until I came to the Waimak Classic Cars Web site. There was a certain classic car listed that was very close to marque and vintage of my first car I ever owned. It was early 50s English favourite. I contacted Jesmond by email as an initial inquiry and he responded promptly and gave me background of the vehicle in addition to what was described on the web site. Obviously an inspection was vital. With then roading problems between Marlborough and Canterbury a convenient time to visit Waimak was agreed given we decided to include a family visit to CHCH to coincide Jesmond was extremely flexible and agreed to meet us in Rangiora to take us to his display site. It certainly was a pleasure to meet both Jesmond and Gloria and it was clear from the outset we were dealing with very good honest and genuine people. We did not purchase the vehicle of initial choice. Whilst a lovely car heart was not where the head was. It just would not fit in my garages! After inspecting and admiring many fine examples we fell in love with a rare for NZ near finished restored 1947 Rover P2. The purchase including a service plus up to date warrant and registration was completed and Gloria arranged the transport of the vehicle to us here in Blenheim. I could not fault the professionalism coupled with warm friendly attitude of both Jesmond and Gloria and strongly commend them to anyone seeking a purchase and or sale of their classic car. Post purchase communication and advice was excellent."

      Specifications

      Description

Just occasionally, a really superb example of a marque appears for sale and this is it.

Sometimes referred to as "the poor man's Roll's Royce,  the P5 was extremely popular with United Kingdom Prime Ministers and government officials of its day. Even the Queen is said to have favoured driving her P5.

The Mark II version of the P5 was introduced in 1962. It featured more power from the same 3.0 L engine and an improved suspension, while dropping the glass wind deflectors from the top of the window openings which also, on the front doors, now featured quarterlight windows.

Production of the Mark II ended in 1965, by which time 15,676 saloons had been produced.

This car is in stunning condition having been very well cared for all its life. It would be hard to come across another example like it. It has done 130049 miles and has had five owners from new. Motor overhauled in 2003.

Paintwork is as new. All the rubbers, trims, external trim are like new.

The original interior is faultless and doesn't have the slightest imperfection. The mechanics are perfect, it doesn't use oil or water. The tires and battery are as new. It comes with the original car jack, car tools, owner's manual, service log books and over $9000 worth of maintenance / service receipts.

This car is being presented as if its hardly been used. It also goes incredibly well.

It would appeal to someone who wants the best and I will only sell it to a good home. Its too good not to.
