I purchased a 1973 Jaguar xj6 series 1 from Waimak and would just like to share my experience with dealing with Jesmond and Gloria who have made the whole process very easy and stress-free. Hi Gloria, just to let you know I received delivery of the bike today (Thursday 14th June) I have not taken it out of it’s crate yet and probably won’t for a few days, but from what I can see from looking between the crate boards the bike looks fantastic, and it has been crated up very well. I will let you know more once I de-crate it, but it looks just as you described in your advert, immaculate and I’m very very pleased with what I’ve seen so far and I do not expect that to change, so a very big thank you to You and Jesmond, for all your time and effort to get the bike to me. I’m also very pleased with your agent here – she was absolutely brilliant and without her help and commitment I would not have been able to navigate my way around the import regulations, it would have been a nightmare. I have had a yearning to purchase a vintage or classic car for a number of years and have read Classic Car magazines and trolled internet auction sites until I came to the Waimak Classic Cars Web site. There was a certain classic car listed that was very close to marque and vintage of my first car I ever owned. It was early 50s English favourite. I contacted Jesmond by email as an initial inquiry and he responded promptly and gave me background of the vehicle in addition to what was described on the web site. Obviously an inspection was vital. With then roading problems between Marlborough and Canterbury a convenient time to visit Waimak was agreed given we decided to include a family visit to CHCH to coincide Jesmond was extremely flexible and agreed to meet us in Rangiora to take us to his display site. It certainly was a pleasure to meet both Jesmond and Gloria and it was clear from the outset we were dealing with very good honest and genuine people.
We did not purchase the vehicle of initial choice. Whilst a lovely car heart was not where the head was. It just would not fit in my garages!

After inspecting and admiring many fine examples we fell in love with a rare for NZ near finished restored 1947 Rover P2. The purchase including a service plus up to date warrant and registration was completed and Gloria arranged the transport of the vehicle to us here in Blenheim. I could not fault the professionalism coupled with warm friendly attitude of both Jesmond and Gloria and strongly commend them to anyone seeking a purchase and or sale of their classic car. Post purchase communication and advice was excellent.

Over the years I have purchased numerous vehicles, but found with the Jaguar purchase Gloria and Jesmond provided a more genuine and personal service than I have previously experienced. Prior to uplifting the vehicle, Jesmond organised an oil change, WOF, and installation of an isolating switch, all at his cost.

I recently bought an XJS from Waimak Classic Cars. Bought sight unseen.The process was very smooth and professional.Road transported to Coromandel without a hitch and arrived in A1 condition. Exactly as described – in fact, better than I had expected ! I am looking forward to getting out and about in the car around the Coromandel Peninsula over the coming summer. We recently bought our second classic car from Waimak Classic Cars. Our treasured Alfa went back to North Canterbury, to be replaced by an MG. They have both been bought sight unseen, and shipped up to Wellington. Once again, we enjoyed our dealings with Gloria & Jesmond.
