Triumph TR6 1974
Specifications
Description
The Triumph TR6 is a British six cylinder sports car and was the best-seller of the TR range built by Triumph when production ended in July 1976. A total of 94,619 TR6s were produced.
The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the TR5, but the front and back ends were squared off, reportedly based on a consultancy contract involving Karmann. This is referred to as a Kamm-style tail, which was very common during 1970s era of cars.
All TR6 sports cars featured inline six-cylinder engines and Lucas fuel injection.
This car also features a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive - a very desirable feature giving drivers close gearing for aggressive driving with overdrive available on 3rd and fourth gears, yet "long legs" for open motorways.
This TR6 also features semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15-inch (380 mm) wheels and tires (which also come with vehicle), pile carpet on floors and trunk/boot, bucket seats, and a full complement of instrumentation.
Braking was accomplished by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. A factory hardtop also comes with vehicle.
The TR6 construction was fundamentally old-fashioned: the body was bolted onto a frame instead of the two being integrated into a unibody structure; the TR6 dashboard was wooden (plywood w/ veneer).
The TR6 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 8.2 seconds and has a top speed of 120 mph (190kmh)
Various maintenance and servicing records available, this car can be best described as a well kept, tidy, and presentable example.
Paint work has seen better days with minor crazing developing in some areas, which is visible only from close proximity. That said, body is still very straight and clean of rust and paint is still nice and shiny.
Interior is very tidy. So is engine bay, boot etc. Good tires all round. Hard top available with car.
PRICE FIRM. Will be sold with a 6 month WOF and 12 month Registration.
SHIPPING / TRANSPORT CAN BE ORGANISED ON BUYER'S BEHALF AT BUYERS COST.
