"Once again a pleasure to deal with two professionals. My little piece of ‘Nostalgia ‘ arrived safe and sound into Napier today. A wash and a polish and it looks just like the photos….beautiful ! A quick call to Jesmond and I now have a handle on how to operate her. A short…if steep drive from Ahuriri up to Milton Terrace and she is sitting in the garage alongside the MGA. Should be a lot of fun come Art Deco season….I may even get in the parade with the other 500 classics. Many thanks for the wine & card and of course for your accurate description of the car….always good when your buying sight unseen. Last time I had this car I was sixteen and a half…had to wait six months before i could go on the road, im now 70 ! Take care till next time you have something that takes my eye."Stephen Beaumont, Napier, New Zealand
The Rover P6 series is a saloon car model produced from 1963 to 1977 in Solihull, West Midlands England. It was voted European Car Of The Year in 1964, the very first winner of this title.
Rover saw Buick's compact 3.5L V8 from the Buick Special as a way to differentiate the P6 from its chief rival, the Triumph 2000. They purchased the rights to the innovative aluminum engine, and, once improved for production by Rover's own engineers, it became an instant hit. The Rover V8 engine, as it became known, outlived its original host by more than three decades. This car comes with the later Borg Wagner 35 very smooth gearbox.
ABOUT THIS CAR
- We urge those who share an interest in these cars to have a good look at this car, as it may be years before one comes across another example in this condition. We had the pleasure of owning and selling quite a few mint ones of these beautiful cars just a few years ago. Today they hardly ever become available at this level.
- This car is Mint inside and out. It is arguably one of the nicest in New Zealand.
- The interior is like new with no imperfections.
- The body is straight. The paintwork is beautiful.
- Under the bonnet / under the boot / undercarriage – very clean.
- Beautiful and solid to drive. Motor runs great.
- Doors shut properly and the whole geometry of the car is perfect.
- NZ New and Low Ownership (4 on record but we believe that it could in actual fact be even less than that)
- Original Papers Available
- Just had a full engine service, rear brakes relined, new plugs, engine tuned, oil changed etc.
- This car is hard to fault really. Its beautiful and ready to be enjoyed.
Car will be sold WOF'd and Registered if sold in New Zealand.

At Waimak Classic Cars, our principal interest is to ensure the preservation of classic and vintage vehicles.
Please remember that our vehicles are many years old, often with further previous owners. Many have been bought by us recently. We cannot know exactly what repairs or maintenance has been done although we do our best to obtain log books and copies of invoices of work done, when, and by whom.
Our descriptions are based on our own observations and knowledge and we look for the best examples we can find.
Indicated mileages are based on the records showing with NZTA and / or the vehicle's odometer reading. Because of the age of the vehicle, this can never be guaranteed.
Our inspections are generally non-invasive. Our description is based on a visual inspection and on information supplied to us by third parties.
Any sale is on the condition that the purchaser relies on his/her own judgment and does not rely on our skill or judgment or on any representation made by us. This applies even if the Buyer has not inspected the vehicle before purchase.
We strongly recommend that you have the vehicle inspected by an independent assessor qualified to comment on the particular vehicle's condition. If you are unable to organise this, then this can be organised on your behalf, at your cost.
We are proud of our reputation. However, no older vehicle can be expected to be as reliable as a new one and so all our vehicles are sold on an as is where is basis. Mechanical breakdowns, electronic failures at inconvenient times and maintenance costs are part and parcel of the ownership of classic and vintage vehicles. Reliability is a combination of the particular vehicle, how it has been driven and maintained, and luck.
