"Buying a classic car is a very special experience for the enthusiast like myself. It often involves a long period of searching for just the right car culminating in some nervousness once the deal is done that it will live up to one’s expectations. Those of us with a long history of owning classics will have probably bought at least one lemon – mine was a Lotus Europa! Hence why the pleasure of dealing with Waimak Classic Cars, Jesmond and Gloria was so refreshing. True enthusiasts with integrity, knowledge and patience. My Jaguar XK8 was part of an extensive collection of high quality classics which were a joy to behold. Thanks for all your help, it was the best experience of buying a classic in over 50 years of my involvement."Gordon Hosking, Mangawhai Northland, New Zealand
The Rover P4 series was a group of saloon cars produced from 1949 through to 1964 designed by Gordon Bashford. The P4 designation is factory terminology for the group of cars and was not in day-to-day use by ordinary owners, who would have said simply that they had a "Rover 90" and so on.
This car is the top-end P4 90 with the more-powerful six cylinder 2.6 litre motor. This engine produced 90 hp and this car recorded a top speed of 90.0 mph (144.8 km/h) and acceleration from 0–60 mph (97 km/h) of 18.9 seconds.
A VERY NICE & RELIABLE car indeed. This is a car that retains the pedigree of its colonial days.
One must sense the quality in this car – solid , well engineered; the way it starts, the gear shift, the walking stick handbrake, the beautiful tool kit, the leather seats, the comfort, its smoothness, its quietness – all you can hear when driving this car is the ticking of the clock – very impressive indeed.
Fifty-Eight years on and you can still appreciate and enjoy the distinctiveness of Rover engineering epitomised in long forgotten devises such as the free wheel system – an economy devise, which also enabled one to change gear without using the clutch.
This car is one of the finest and most original examples around.
The interior is all original and everything works like when the car left the factory. All doors shut nicely. The body is straight with no rust. The paint is in beautiful order.
A gentleman's car in every respect. This Auntie Rover assumes the character of British civility and refinement and is certainly NOT TO BE MISSED.
PRICE FIRM and like the rest of our cars, this car will ONLY be sold to a good home.
Car will come with a six month WOF and twelve month registration if sold in New Zealand and a fully paid one year Rover Club Membership.
SHIPPING CAN BE ARRANGED FOR OUR OVERSEAS CLIENTS & TRANSPORT THROUGHOUT NEW ZEALAND CAN BE ORGANISED ON BUYER'S BEHALF.
