The Porsche 928 is a sports- GT car that was sold by Porsche AG of Germany from 1978 to 1995. Originally intended to replace the company's iconic 911, the 928 combined the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury sedan to create what some Porsche executives thought would be a vehicle with wider appeal than the compact, quirky and sometimes difficult 911.
Porsche builds cars for those to whom driving is more than just a means for getting from A to B. Hence why the cars that leave the Porsche factory have always remained distinct from those built by other manufacturers.
International Success and Experience gained in the Company's commitment to Motor Racing and an instinctive appreciation for design are united in the 928S4.
This car is an expression of exclusiveness and functionality. It contains features that are mirrored by individuality and sound ergonomics. Also, the outward appearance of the 928 S4 bears witness to the car's safety features and aerodynamic qualities. This car provides maximum driving safety with exhilarating dynamic handling characteristics at a high level of driving comfort.
With eight cylinders and four valves per cylinder, the 5.0ltr engine responds to the throttle immediately with all the power a driver requires. An absolute pleasure to drive. In fact the S4 is more than that – its an unparalleled experience - it is driving in its purest form.
The 928 S4 produced 316 horsepower. It received exterior updates and an updated interior trim. The updates to the exterior improved the aerodynamics which ultimately lowered the body's coefficient of drag. This was achieved, in part, due to grill flaps that would open and close depending on speed and a foldable rear wing spoiler. Bigger brakes using four-piston Brembo calipers, larger rotors and pads, and ABS provided excellent stopping power for the S4. During its production run, beginning in 1987 and ending in 1990, over 15,000 examples of the 928 S4 were produced.
Needless to say, like all our cars, this MINT Porsche is very presentable.
With Cambelts done at 92400 miles and various service history and maintenance records available from 1994 at specialist Porsche outlets, credit must also go to its previous five owners. Original Porsche Driving Manual and Booklets available with car.
