"We recently purchased a Classic Car from Waimakclassiccars and cannot thank them enough for their superb level of service. The car we chose, needed a little bit of extra work done, by mutual agreement, and Jesmond organised for that to be done and the car presented to us in prisitine condition. The communication from Jesmond and Gloria is prompt, personal and informative. Put simply, Jesmond and Gloria are a pleasure to do business with. We thoroughly recommend Waimakclassiccars."Bernard & Sally Feely, Timaru, New Zealand
A most honest 1938 Morris 8 (Series 2) in VERY GOOD condition throughout.
The Morris Eight was a small car inspired by the sales popularity of the similarly shaped Ford Model Y. The success of the car enabled Morris to regain its position as Britain's largest motor manufacturer.
This car is powered by a Morris UB series 800cc four-cylinder side valve engine with three bearing crankshaft and single SU carburettor with maximum power of 23.5 bhp (17.5 kW). The gearbox is a three-speed unit with synchromesh on the top two speeds and Lockheed hydraulic brakes were fitted. Coil Ignition was used in a Lucas electrical system powered by a 6 volt battery and third bush dynamo.
Car is factory equipped with a set of instruments including a speedometer with a built in odometer, oil pressure and fuel level gauges and an ammeter.
The more modern design of the Morris 8 was reflected in the superior performance of its hydraulically operated 8 inch drum brakes.
The Series 2 was updated in 1938 with a slight restyle to match the other cars in the Morris range. Changes included painted rather than plated radiator surrounds and disc wheels replaced the previous "Magna" wire spoke ones.
Car drives beautifully. It has been well looked after and pampered for a number of years.
This well restored car has an excellent body. Paint is EXCELLENT. Interior is VERY ORIGINAL and in VERY GOOD CONDITION throughout. Everything in this car works as it should. Engine Bay is very clean and tidy.
VERY GOOD tires, 6V battery and EXCELLENT motor. Odometer in MILES.
A great wee car that drives and feels like new. This is a great example not to be missed. PRICE FIRM.
