Here we have a most honest 1937 Morris 8 (Series 1) in VERY GOOD condition throughout.
The Morris Eight was a small car inspired by the sales popularity of the similarly shaped Ford Model Y. The success of the car enabled Morris to regain its position as Britain's largest motor manufacturer.
This car is powered by a Morris UB series 800cc four-cylinder side valve engine with three bearing crankshaft and single SU carburettor with maximum power of 23.5 bhp (17.5 kW). The gearbox is a three-speed unit with synchromesh on the top two speeds and Lockheed hydraulic brakes were fitted. Coil Ignition was used in a Lucas electrical system powered by a 6 volt battery and third bush dynamo, although this car has been converted to 12 volts.
Car is factory equipped with a set of instruments including a speedometer with a built in odometer, oil pressure and fuel level gauges and an ammeter.
The more modern design of the Morris 8 was reflected in the superior performance of its hydraulically operated 8 inch drum brakes.
Car drives beautifully. It has been well looked after and pampered in a museum for a number of years.
This car has an excellent body. Paint is very good. Interior is mint throughout. Everything works as it should. Engine Bay very clean and tidy. Very good tires, good 12V battery and excellent motor. Starts first time, does not smoke and does not leak oil.
A great wee car that drives and feels like new. No rattles or noises. Just drives beautifully. This is a great example not to be missed.
Has a new WOF and registration is currently on hold. Will be sold with a 12month registration.

Waimak Classic Cars is not aware of any specific defects with the vehicle, however (a) such a vehicle being a classic vehicle may have mechanical breakdowns, electrical failures at inconvenient times and maintenance costs being part of and parcel of ownership of a classic car; (b) reliability is a combination of the particular nature of the classic vehicle, how it is being driven, how it has been maintained, and to a certain extent luck.
The Purchaser acknowledges that the vehicle is being sold as a classic car; that in terms of the Act and the nature of the goods, the vehicle, is an old car that may have faults, unlike a modern motor vehicle.
The Purchaser is encouraged to personally fully inspect the vehicle and/or to have the vehicle inspected, fully assessed and maintained by an experienced classic car mechanic.
The Purchaser acknowledges that they have read and fully understand this notification and the nature of a car which is many years old.
