Description

And here is it¦this is THE MG That Caught The Duke's Eye!

In his bachelor days, the Duke Of Edinburgh drove an MG TC Sports Car. He often took the then future Queen for rides in it, while they were courting.

The car obviously had a place in the Duke's heart, because when he visited Ashburton with the Queen in 1981, he stopped to talk to a woman in an MG TC near Ashburton airport.

What a thrill that unexpected meeting was for that woman, who had bought this MG brand new more than 30 years previously in 1947. She held onto the car until 1986 when she sold it to the second owner with 61762 miles.

By that time, the car was showing its age and the second owner set to work rebuilding it, painstakingly stripping it down to the chassis and restoring it to concours quality over a three year period.

Today this MG is a magnificent example of a two-seater British Sports Car finished in Brooklands Green. Back in 1992, the car won best paintwork, got overall highest score and won Master's Class at the Canterbury Intermarque Concours D'Elegance.

Car was sold to the third owner in 1993 with 67608 miles on the clock.

What a magnificent piece of history, with its square, upright radiator, long bonnet, open front mudguards and tiny cockpit , the MG still epitomises the post war sports car era.

With only three owners from new, this MG, Chassis #: TC3890 is of Concours Quality and guaranteed to be One Of The Nicest TC's In The Country.

It Drives and Works beautifully and would be a talking point in any collection.

Original Certificate Of Registration available along with various history, write ups and old photos.

Comes with Original Key, service records etc.

The TC Midget was the first postwar MG launched in 1945.

10,001 TCs were produced, from September 1945 (chassis number TC0251) to Nov. 1949 (chassis number TC10251), more than any previous MG model.

Car will be sold WOF'd and Registered if sold in New Zealand.
