1959 Jaguar XK150 FHC
Specifications
Description
E-type not exclusive enough?
Then why not consider the XK150...The Jaguar XK150 was the first production Jaguar available with all-round disc brakes. With only its successor the E-type to challenge it, the Jaguar XK150 can lay claim to the title of the greatest post-war production sports car in the world.
In their time, they were absolutely without parallel. They have incredible style, a terrific heritage and superb performance – even by the today's standards. These fine examples of British engineering are also practical too, which is paramount for any old car that's going to see regular use.
ABOUT THIS CAR
- This XK 150 FHC was completed on 9th June 1958 and shipped to Jaguar Cars in New York City in July of the same year. As with many European cars imported to the USA at the time, it was titled by the following model year, 1959.
- Fully matching number XK150 according to the Production Record Trace Certificate and also the ID plate on the car and of course as confirmed by the photo of the Engine number - all consistent.
- The car was sold to a buyer in California, then to a gentleman in Louisiana, where it was fully restored in 2005 and completely repainted in model-proper Jaguar Satin Black in 2014.
- This XK 150 is equipped with five factory knock-off wire wheels, including the spare, and rides on period-correct Coker Classic blackwall bias tires.
- The all-red interior is pristine with the leather seats, carpets, headliner, door panels, and leather-trimmed instrument panel all meticulously cared for.
- The boot has a protective red liner and stores a complete tool kit with a Thor hammer. Owner's manuals are also included.
- 9,395 XK 150s were built during the model's 1957–1961 lifespan. Only 638 XK 150 fixed head coupes were produced in 1958.
- Paint is beautiful – looks like new almost.
- Engine bay is so clean you could eat breakfast off it.
- Superb handling and performance.
- NZ first registration in 2018
Last of the legendary range of XK sports cars, the 150 remained true to the formula on which Jaguar built a dynasty. Its character was more comfortable than ever though, seemingly content to fulfil the role of grand tourer – if long distance cruising with a generous dash of panache is your requirement, you won't go far wrong with an XK150.
Will be sold WOF'd and Registered if sold in New Zealand.
