Description

Robert Craig Hupp debuted the first Hupmobile in 1909. Despite being produced for the lower-price class, the Hupmobile featured a two-speed sliding gear transmission and high tension magneto. Following Hupp's departure from the company in 1911, Hupmobile underwent a transformation and became a fairly successful car company. The Model 32, a larger and more powerful vehicle than its predecessor, debuted in 1912 and sold well over the next few years.

ABOUT THIS CAR

  • This Model 32HA Hupmobile is fully functional and has been comprehensively restored to Concours standard, using original or period parts.
  • The paintwork, the trim, the hood and side curtains, wheels and tyres are in excellent order.
  • The original brass carbide headlights and kerosene side lights and tail light are great, it runs and drives well with an excellent performance.
  • This is a genuine numbers matching car. 
  • The Hupmobile was produced from 1909 until around 1940, the model 32 was built from 1912-1914, it was known as a strong and lively performing car.
  • This model has a substantial 4 cylinder side valve engine of 32 hp with a 3 speed rear mounted gearbox.
  • This model was also one of the first cars with an all steel body.
  • A lovely affordable "Brass" veteran car ready to use and enjoy.

Waimak Classic Cars accepts that the vehicle being sold must be of “acceptable quality” in terms of section 7 of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (the Act) having regard to “the nature of the goods”.

Waimak Classic Cars is not aware of any specific defects with the vehicle, however (a) such a vehicle being a classic vehicle may have mechanical breakdowns, electrical failures at inconvenient times and maintenance costs being part of and parcel of ownership of a classic car; (b) reliability is a combination of the particular nature of the classic vehicle, how it is being driven, how it has been maintained, and to a certain extent luck.

The Purchaser acknowledges that the vehicle is being sold as a classic car; that in terms of the Act and the nature of the goods, the vehicle, is an old car that may have faults, unlike a modern motor vehicle.

The Purchaser is encouraged to personally fully inspect the vehicle and/or to have the vehicle inspected, fully assessed and maintained by an experienced classic car mechanic.

The Purchaser acknowledges that they have read and fully understand this notification and the nature of a car which is many years old.
