Ford Capri 2.8Ltr V6 Injection 1982

Specifications

Description

The Capri Mk III was a little more than a substantial update of the Capri MK II.

The first cars were available in March 1978 and for the 1982 model year, the Essex 3.0 V6 powerplant which had been the range topper since September 1969 was dropped, while a new sporty version debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, called the 2.8 Injection.

The new model was the first regular model since the RS2600 to use fuel injection and gave a top speed of 210 km/h, but the car still had a standard four-speed gearbox.

The Capri 2.8 Injection breathed new life into the Capri range and kept the car in production 2–3 years longer than Ford had planned.

We don't get many cars that look like this anymore nowadays. There's something about these cars that look just right and there's something about the way they go.

The Capri was designed from the outset to be a practical coupe. It's a full four seater and the back seats can be folded, together or individually, to optimise luggage space.

Overall, every car nut owes it to themselves to own a Capri at some point in their life.

A clean 2.8-litre model offers outrageous fun per pound so be quick on this one, as these cars are extremely sought after and original examples like this one are becoming very hard to come by.

Car will be sold WOF'd and Registered if sold in New Zealand.
