Ferrari 308GT4 Dino 1975

Specifications

Description

The Ferrari 308 GT4 was a mid engined V8 powered 2+2 car built by Ferrari.

It was introduced in 1973 and replaced by the Mondial 8 in 1980 after a production run of 2,826 vehicles. It was sold with “DINObadging (continuing the Dino brand to differentiate non-V12s) until May 1976, when all badging was replaced with "Ferrari" badging.

3.0L Quad Cam V8 with four Weber Carburetor, the 308 GT4 2+2 was a groundbreaking model for Ferrari in several ways.  It was the first production Ferrari to feature the mid-engined V8 layout that would become the bulk of the company's business in the succeeding decades, and was the first production Ferrari to feature Bertone (rather than Pininfarina) bodywork.

5 speed manual. Fully factory optioned with Connelly Black leather seats, black woolen carpet, air conditioning, electric windows, original factory stereo, drivers exterior mirror & front fog lights.

This vehicle is in BEAUTIFUL CONDITION. At the height of Ferrari prices in 1989 this vehicle would have been worth in excess of NZD$100,000.  At that time in European markets examples like this one were selling for up to NZD$125,000.

Only 2826 GT4's were produced worldwide and there are approximately 20 in NZ.

Fabulous driving car, very smooth and fast for its year of manufacture. Top speed when new was 250 km/h (150mph) and it still has plenty of this ability! Many motoring writers over the years have said that this model Ferrari is a better drive than the later 308 GTB which is powered by the same engine.

This car is in good condition throughout having been well cared for all its life. We understand that this car was imported to New Zealand by its original owner. Car was registered new in England in 1975 – was registered in the US then imported to NZ in 2002. This technically makes the car a one owner car for most of its life.

Low mileage and not in your face in blue, this is a great driver's car with an awesome note to it. Solid built and great road holding. This is one car that puts a smile on every man's face.

Car will be sold with a six month WOF and twelve month registration.
