Description

THIS IS A ONE OWNER VEHICLE FROM NEW

The original owner took delivery of this vehicle in Park Lane London on 30 June 1972 under the NZ government scheme whereby if you purchased a vehicle and owned and used it for 1 year and were absent from New Zealand for 21 months one could avoid any custom duty in both countries.

This car was garaged from day one in London, and has been for the remainder of its ownership. About 2500 miles was clocked up in the UK and it was never exposed to salted roads in snow/ice conditions. Because of complex qualifying conditions, the car was taken to the Continent and it was shipped out of Rotterdam to New Zealand in July of 1973.

From that time onwards the car has been located in the Waikato. It was initially used as any car would be used for family use, but in latter years more as a backup vehicle and hence the relatively low mileage for a car of this age. The car was serviced at its appointed times as evidenced by the records that were sent with the car.

Initially at Ross Jensen Motors in Auckland, McMillan BMW Auckland ,Coombes Johnson BMW Hamilton, SD European Horitiu, and finally Hillcrest Autos Hamilton (owned by a previous service manager at Coombes Johnson). It was cleaned thoroughly mostly on a weekly basis, not driven on metal roads and every effort made to protect it from sun damage.

Car had Gold Seal anti rust process carried out around 1978.

During the last dozen years no trips in excess of 100 miles have occurred. Most outings have been about 20 miles only. Hence low mileage.

The radio and cassette player crashed out in the 1990s and the radio was repaired and was operable for a short time. The cassette has remained untouched as the original owner was unable to locate anyone with the ability to repair it.

Drives and works very well.

PRICE FIRM. Car will be sold with a 6 month WOF and 12 months registration.

Shipping / Transport can be organised for Buyer at Buyer's cost.

Viewing is STRICTLY BY PRIOR APPOINTMENT only.
