Description
The Austin Cambridge (sold as A40, A50, A55, and A60) is a motor car range sold by the Austin Motor Company in several generations from September 1954 through to 1969 as cars and to 1971 as light commercials. It replaced the A40 Somerset but was entirely new with modern unibody construction. The range had two basic body styles with the A40, A50 and early A55s using a traditional rounded shape and later A55 Mark IIs and A60s using Farina styling
In January 1957, the A55 Cambridge was introduced to replace the A50 model. It used the same 1.5 L B-Series engine as its predecessor, though with a higher compression ratio: 51 hp at 4250 rpm was now available.
The Cambridge had been restyled somewhat and now had a larger boot and much larger rear window. The car was also lowered by fitting (330 mm) road wheels which were smaller than those on the A50 but the overall gearing remained the same by changing the rear axle ratio.
Just over 150,000 were produced when it was replaced by a new Pinifarina-designed A55 Cambridge for 1959.
This car is in very good and presentable order. Repainted at some stage in its original colour, the body is straight and rust free and the paint has a very nice shine to it.
Interior VERY GOOD, so is engine bay, car boot etc.
Mechanically sound and great little motor in excellent running order.
Nice little runabout and cheap classic motoring.
PRICE FIRM and reflects condition of vehicle.

Waimak Classic Cars accepts that the vehicle being sold must be of “acceptable quality” in terms of section 7 of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (the Act) having regard to “the nature of the goods”.
Waimak Classic Cars is not aware of any specific defects with the vehicle, however (a) such a vehicle being a classic vehicle may have mechanical breakdowns, electrical failures at inconvenient times and maintenance costs being part of and parcel of ownership of a classic car; (b) reliability is a combination of the particular nature of the classic vehicle, how it is being driven, how it has been maintained, and to a certain extent luck.
The Purchaser acknowledges that the vehicle is being sold as a classic car; that in terms of the Act and the nature of the goods, the vehicle, is an old car that may have faults, unlike a modern motor vehicle.
The Purchaser is encouraged to personally fully inspect the vehicle and/or to have the vehicle inspected, fully assessed and maintained by an experienced classic car mechanic.
The Purchaser acknowledges that they have read and fully understand this notification and the nature of a car which is many years old.
