2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage

Specifications

Description

One of the most beautiful Aston Martins is now also one of the most affordable.

The DB7’s are known for their super-pure styling (slim lozenge-shaped indicator/sidelight units rather than the later, much larger, round affairs) and yet, you really cannot beat a V12. A Vantage sounds menacing even at idle, but wind one up – a nice long tunnel is best for this – and the resultant howl will make your scalp prickle and your arms break out in goosebumps. It’s properly addictive.

The DB7 was styled by Keith Helfet and Ian Callum, and engineered by Tom Walkinshaw’s TWR Group using a high proportion of parts from Jaguar, which was also owned by Ford at the time.

The car was unveiled at Geneva in ’93 and in production the following year, at a factory in Bloxham where the XJ220 had been built.

ABOUT THIS CAR

  • The DB7 Vantage's ride quality is a blend of firm control with supple response. High-speed cruising is this DB7's forte.
  • Sold new in 2001 by Independent Prestige Ltd in NZ, this is an Immaculate, Low Mileage, Low Ownership, NZ New example.
  • A good DB7, like this one, is exhilarating to drive, while delivering the driver cool and unruffled to their destination.
  • Maintained and Serviced by Independent Prestige Ltd in Auckland from new up to 44205kms.

Contrary to what some ‘experts’ claim, there is no such thing as a cheap Aston Martin but if you have the money to bag a well-loved example, then we can think of few other cars that offer so much for the money.

Our opinion is if you can stretch to a Vantage, you’ll find it impossible to resist the magnificent V12 bellow and astonishing performance.

Will be sold WOF’d and Registered.
