2000 Mini Cooper Sport

Specifications

Description

Yep, Mini's have an ageless appeal.

They have been around in amazingly unchanged form for more than 40 years - a marvel of ingenious design and packaging; a celebrated race history, and, at the end of the day, they still suffer from endearingly terminal cuteness.

Like the original Beetle and Model T, the Mini is one of the landmark automotive designs of the 20th century. And as you've probably heard by now, production of the so-called Classic Mini was finally over in the year 2000 after 41 continuous years, with more than 5.3 million served.

After time spent driving and enjoying this classic Mini, it's fair to say we really "get it." We fully understand why it's been such a motoring icon for so many years. It's obsessively cute and giggly fun to drive. Basically the last hoorah before BMW took over the Mini Cooper reins in 2001, these models have always surfed a great big wave of hype, often appearing on one those drive-before-you-die lists that haunt the interweb.

So yes, there you have it, with your backside kissing the asphalt and your hands gripping the unassisted steering wheel, the Cooper Sport feels like an indoor go-kart with a body bolted to it. There’s a granular intimacy flowing through its controls that you simply don’t get in most modern machinery anymore, which is why you should add one of these to your collection, as these cars will only appreciate in value.

Will be sold WOF'd and Registered if sold in New Zealand.
