"Hello, our car arrived in Napier. Bad weather..other commitments etc etc BUT today all the ducks were in a row. Finally we have been out for a drive…it was fabulous just love driving it it’s a great one to alternate with the MGA…but only when the sun shines. The roofs off it’s polished to perfection and I can only say many thanks to being 100 percent accurate in your description of the car…always a little unnerving when buying site unseen. This is my third time with you guys and you have always been honest. Many thanks once again..it will be looked after as always."Stephen Beaumont, Napier, New Zealand
The most collected of the Land Cruiser family and agree that the final few model years (81-83) represent the best of the breed and the most modern.
By so many standards, the Land Cruiser is the definitive 20th century 4x4.
With an international pedigree like a Land Rover, the rugged simplicity of a Jeep and swagger like an old Bronco, the Landcruiser is a greatest hits album of classic trucks.
Fun to look at, sure, but driving one will take your appreciation to a whole new level because you don't drive this truck for performance, handling, or comfort. You drive it BECAUSE IT IS A LAND CRUISER!
ABOUT THIS CAR
- This is an incredibly tidy truck.
- NZ New with 4 long term NZ Owners.
- New battery / New glow plugs / new hood lining / new upholstery.
- From 1982 onwards a 5 speed gearbox was optional and this one comes with a 5 speed gearbox.
- Very sturdy wagon - no rust that we are aware of, and pretty much unrestored. Sure its had some touch ups over the years but we reckon it would be hard to find a better one in such original condition.
- In terms of its importance to Toyota as a global automaker to be reckoned with, you simply cannot overstate the impact the FJ40 had. In addition to being one of Toyota’s best-selling vehicles, it solidified the brand’s reputation for building strong, reliable vehicles.
- Diesel so economical to run.
- Very Good Tires including spare.
- Mechanically sound - runs and drives well.
This is one of the best vehicles ever made. Maintain it and the average engine will last well over 250-300K miles UNTOUCHED! Some even go as high as 500K without even a rebuild.
Plenty of room to haul all the gear you would ever need, and still cruise down the road in style.
Great to drive, easy and comfortable. Build tough and to last forever. Performs very good for an 4x4 vehicle and it's capable of carrying on almost ANY offroad add-on or accessory ever made. It’s a wonderfully simple vehicle that is much more than the sum of its parts not only because of its capabilities but because of the things that people associate it with.
Toughness, adventurousness, reliability, style... the qualities of this Land Cruiser reads like the Tinder profile of someone you’d bring home to your parents plus good examples of these cars are becoming rarer by the day...oh and did I mention soaring prices?
Car will be sold WOF'd and Registered if sold in New Zealand.
