Wind Back Time
1971 Triumph TR6
Specifications
Description
The British Roadster With More Swagger Than a ’70s Rock Star!
If James Bond ever went on holiday and wanted something a bit cheekier than an Aston, he’d take a TR6.
ABOUT THIS CAR
- This thing is pure ’70s attitude on wheels. Long bonnet, wide hips, and a straight-six soundtrack that rumbles like it’s clearing its throat before saying something brilliant.
- Fire it up and you get that unmistakable growl that reminds you: this isn’t a modern car wrapped in electronics and apologies. No, the TR6 is old-school cool, the kind of cool that doesn’t try, it just is.
- On the road it feels alive, eager, and just the right bit naughty. Corners? It leans in with confidence. Straights? It stretches its legs like it’s late for a pint at the local pub. And wherever you go, people look, smile, and ask questions—because everyone secretly wants to drive one.
- Inside, it’s classic wood and charm. No digital screens, no plastic nonsense...just the essentials, plus a heavy dose of personality.
- If you want a car that makes every trip feel like a scene from a retro movie, the TR6 is your leading man. It doesn’t just take you places, it makes you remember the ride.
- Other than that, not much more to add save that body seems sound. Paint looks very good. Interior is tidy...and mileage looks to be genuine at 94K miles.
- Great fun car ready for summer.
- We understand that it had a light restoration circa 3 years ago but note that no restoration or mechanical records came with the car.
- NZ NEW - nine owners on record - 38 years between 4 owners.
- Odometer in Miles.
For anyone considering the pleasures of open-top British motoring, the TR6 is an excellent choice. Club and specialist support is exceptional, and values have strengthened significantly in recent years. With TR5 prices soaring, many buyers have turned to the TR6 - mechanically near-identical but still offering strong value.
Prices continue to rise, making this a smart, enjoyable, and appreciating classic.
Will be sold WOF'd and Registered.
Transport / Shipping can be organised for Buyer's behalf at Buyer's cost.
