Description

The P5B was a carry over from the P5 3.0 Liter with some minor differences such as fog lights, stainless body trim etc.

The big difference is in the power plant. The all aluminum V8 Buick engine. This motor proved itself in the Rover family over many generations. The first being the P5B. The 'B' in P5B denotes Buick.

When introduced in 1958, the P5 was Rover's undoubted flagship - and a return to the upper echelons of the executive car market for its maker.

Being big, sturdy and incredibly well-made, it soon became the favoured transport of British prime ministers and royalty. Styling had been penned by David Bache, while the monocoque body (Rover’s first) had been engineered by Spen King and Gordon Bashford - all of whom would achieve superstardom because of their work on the Range Rover.

The P5B with the muscular new engine improved performance, and economy. It had a very different appeal to the straight-six, and quickly supplanted it - remaining in production until 1973.

A very desirable classic in excellent order - Do not miss out on this one.

Car will be sold WOF’d and Registered.
