1967 Ford Mustang 289 Notchback V8

1967 Ford Mustang 289 Notchback V8

An incredible 22,000 Mustang orders – hardtops and convertibles – were taken in its first day on sale and more than 400,000 were sold in its first year. Is'nt that amazing!

Based on the underpinnings of the Falcon, Ford’s cheap, simple compact car, this simplicity – and the huge production numbers – means owning a convertible Mustang is a no-stress affair these days and there are plenty already on our roads.

The '67 Mustang was, in our humble opinion, one of Ford's best styling exercises ever. Why? Because it mirrored the original introduced three years earlier yet it stood on its own with deeply sculptured lines, a razor-sharp belt line, three-element tail lamps, groovy simulated finned side scoops, a wider track, and nice engineering refinements inside and out.

  • This car offers such a familiar feeling and sound - a solid old school American V8 that makes you wanna drive.
  • This healthy 200hp 289 two-barrel V8 is a snappy power plant offering good low-end torque for city and highway driving.
  • Interior - very original and tidy with factory roof and middle console
  • A nice and usable example - reliable classic motoring and lots of family fun.
  • Good low profile tires with aftermarket rims.
  • Straight body with good paint - very presentable.
  • Comes with spare wheel, jack and wheel brace.
  • Aftermarket CD player - Twist the dial to and fro to see if there's a good oldies station playing your favorite memories.
  • Power steering and power brakes.

A really nice classic car to make memories with. We own many classics but there's something about these old Mustangs. Basic engineering at its best but you can't help not falling in love with this car. The miles and years become something of a book--chapter after chapter--with a lifetime of memories made in a nimble Ford classic.

Take the Mustang pledge and buy this iconic American classic now!

At Waimak Classic Cars, our principal interest is to ensure the preservation of classic and vintage vehicles. Please remember that our vehicles are many years old, often with further previous owners. Many have been bought by us recently. We cannot know exactly what repairs or maintenance has been done although we do our best to obtain log books and copies of invoices of work done, when, and by whom.

Our descriptions are based on our own observations and knowledge and we look for the best examples we can find. Indicated mileages are based on the records showing with NZTA and / or the vehicle’s odometer reading. Because of the age of the vehicle, this can never be guaranteed. Our inspections are generally non-invasive. Our description is based on a visual inspection and on information supplied to us by third parties.

Any sale is on the condition that the purchaser relies on his/her own judgment and does not rely on our skill or judgment or on any representation made by us. This applies even if the Buyer has not inspected the vehicle before purchase. We strongly recommend that you have the vehicle inspected by an independent assessor qualified to comment on the particular vehicle’s condition. If you are unable to organise this, then this can be organised on your behalf, at your cost.

We are proud of our reputation. However, no older vehicle can be expected to be as reliable as a new one and so all our vehicles are sold on an as is where is basis. Mechanical breakdowns, electronic failures at inconvenient times and maintenance costs are part and parcel of the ownership of classic and vintage vehicles. Reliability is a combination of the particular vehicle, how it has been driven and maintained, and luck.
