ABOUT THIS CAR
- This looks to be a good, and original survivor example, with various paint imperfections, as can be seen from photos.
- Engine reconditioned to the tune of NZD10K+ in 2017 by Engine Reconditioning Services in Christchurch at circa 66Kms (or miles) but we're assuming its kilometers, as it is NZ New, so factory RHD as well.
- Car shows only 75167 kms, which looks to be original distance traveled.
- Original Certificate Of Registration Available.
- Runs and drives very nice - It's a solid, dependable driver and a nice cruiser.
- Not often we come across one in original condition, NZ New etc.
- Comfortable and spacious interior.
- Cruise-O-Matic transmission provides smooth and easy shifting.
- This is a great car to cruise downtown or take joyriding down a country road on a summer day.
- The car will ride nicely at 45-60 mph down the highway. It handles decently, and maneuvering the car is quite smooth and easy.
- The aesthetic, both interior and exterior, invoke a feeling of performance. The car's square, sleek profile and short fins, combined with the simple 3-gauge instrument cluster and pleated chrome dash panel, seem vaguely inspired by the jet aircraft of the times.
I think half the Fairlanes I remember seeing when they were still common were this color.
Finding any vintage Ford from this period is getting harder; finding one in this condition is even more challenging. As you study this car, you're probably thinking what a nice survivor - could just leave and enjoy as is?...or what a nice restoration we could have here....could even be a rotisserie job?
Will be sold WOF'd and Registered if sold in New Zealand.
