• NZ NEW, Factory RHD - Only 3400 cars were built of the 1500 series - most of which went to America. Very few were RHD and this is one of 30 sold new in NZ.
• Manufacturer: MG (Morris Garages), a subsidiary of the Nuffield Organization
• Model Year: 1955 (final year of TF production)
• Engine: 1466cc inline-4 XPAG engine (upgraded from the TF1250's 1250cc). The XPAG engine is durable and rev-happy, and the TF1500 version has improved torque for better low-end drivability.
• Power: 63 horsepower
• Top Speed: 85 mph (137 km/h)
• 0-60 mph: 16–18 seconds
• Transmission: originally 4-speed manual, non-synchro on first gear. The Five speed Gearbox on this car is out of a Ford Fiesta.
• Layout: Front-engine, rear-wheel drive
• Handling: Crisp and direct, helped by a low center of gravity, rack-and-pinion steering, and narrow tires. Not very forgiving at the limit but great for cruising.
• Braking: Drum brakes all around — adequate, but prone to fade under hard use. This car is fitted with a brake booster, which makes all the difference.
• The TF series is often considered one of the most beautiful MGs ever made, with flowing fenders, a sloped grille, and integrated headlamps (a modern touch compared to earlier MG T-series models). The wire wheels, side-hinged bonnet, and leather-trimmed interior add to its vintage charm and the TF1500 looked nearly identical to the TF1250 but was subtly badged and offered better performance.
• The interior is spartan by today's standards but charming and authentic. Cute dash and gauges, and thin steering wheel create an intimate and analog driving experience.
• Little weather protection but who cares - this car comes with side curtains instead of windows, and a minimal soft top.
• 1955 was seen as the "last of the line" for these TF's before MG shifted to the more streamlined MGA.
• Highly collectible, appreciating classic with strong collector interest due to its transitional status, classic looks, and pre-war character in a post-war package.

• This is not a matching numbers car. Its original engine was taken out at some point in its early life and put into a racing car. After which, it was fitted with a 1250 motor. The current motor is an XPEG 1500 motor, that was imported from the UK and restored to replace the 1250 motor. It's got a proper starter and car starts and drives with ease.
• Car has been restored at great cost - pretty much from scratch at a cost of over 100K and comes with plenty of documented records. It's today in beautiful usable order and is a great wee classic.
