Description
Few modern motorcycles combine art, heritage and performance quite like the 2020 MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro!
Created as a contemporary interpretation of MV Agusta’s extraordinary Grand Prix racing legacy, the Superveloce blended unmistakable 1960s and 1970s inspiration with thoroughly modern Italian engineering. Its sculpted fairing, round headlight, compact tail and beautifully detailed finishes deliberately evoke the machines ridden during MV Agusta’s golden competition era, yet beneath the retro silhouette lies a sophisticated modern superbike.
At its heart is MV Agusta’s charismatic 798cc three-cylinder engine, producing approximately 148 horsepower and delivering the sharp response, distinctive soundtrack and high-revving character for which the marque has become renowned. Based around the highly capable F3 platform, the Superveloce combines a lightweight chassis, premium suspension, powerful Brembo braking and advanced electronics with styling unlike virtually anything else on the road. It was never intended simply to recreate the past; instead, MV Agusta used its history as the inspiration for an exotic modern performance motorcycle.
Making the Serie Oro, or “Gold Series”, particularly special is its exclusivity. Produced as a limited introductory edition of just 300 individually numbered motorcycles, it received extensive carbon-fibre bodywork, distinctive detailing and special equipment that separated it from the regular-production Superveloce that followed. Beautiful, rare and unmistakably Italian, the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro represents MV Agusta at its most evocative: a modern collector motorcycle created to celebrate one of the greatest racing names in motorcycling history.

- The Superveloce is unique, a throwback to the ’70s when MV dominated racing. Paint finishes and attention to design and detail are textbook exotica. Fairing screws are hidden, the satin finished magnesium coloured wheels look fantastic and the Superveloce 800 is so posh it even wears a tiara. It’s individual and daring. It’s built and manufactured in Italy, produced by an iconic manufacturer with an eye for detail. Check out the single LED headlight and taillight, the protruding exhausts, the leather strap over the fuel tank, which is lavish, over the top and serves no purpose other than to catch the eye.
- Battery charger, Indoor cover and some other bits come with bike.
- A very capable machine.
MV Agusta models may be expensive but you can at least feel where your money is going and you’re getting a lot of speed, character technology, design and all-round handsomeness for the money, and it won’t disappoint if you can afford it.
The longer you stare at this bike, the more exquisite details you will see. It doesn’t feel handmade – you can tell it came from a factory rather than a shed – but it also feels less mass-produced than more mainstream competition.
The question that remains is – is there a more desirable, sexier production bike on the market?
We think it’s jaw-droppingly beautiful, and underneath is a motor and handling to match. This is a true retro racer that could embarrass dedicated sports bikes on the track. You’ll fall in love every time you open your garage and press the starter button 🙂
Will be sold WOF’d and Registered IF sold in New Zealand.

Market Review
The 2020 MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro has all the ingredients of a serious modern collectible. Limited to just 300 individually numbered examples worldwide, it was the launch edition of the Superveloce and carried a new price of approximately €27,990, positioning it firmly among the more exclusive Italian motorcycles of its generation. Its carbon-fibre bodywork, special detailing and unmistakable Ago-inspired red and silver presentation further distinguish it from the standard Superveloce models that followed.
Market values are already beginning to demonstrate the importance collectors place on the Serie Oro. A 2020 example sold at auction in 2022 for £19,687, while exceptionally low-mileage examples have more recently carried European auction estimates around €26,000–€32,000. These figures should be treated as indications rather than definitive values, the market is thin because so few examples exist, but they demonstrate that the very best, low-mileage and complete examples continue to attract meaningful collector interest.
Its longer-term appeal arguably lies in the combination of rarity, beauty, specification and significance within MV Agusta history. Unlike many limited-edition motorcycles that amount largely to cosmetic changes, the Serie Oro was the model that introduced the Superveloce concept to production and was deliberately created as a celebration of MV Agusta’s extraordinary racing heritage. For collectors, examples retaining their original equipment, racing kit, documentation and very low mileage are likely to remain the most desirable.
The Serie Oro is still a relatively young motorcycle, so significant appreciation cannot be taken for granted. However, with only 300 produced, spectacular styling and one of motorcycling’s most evocative names on the tank, it has strong credentials as a future classic. It represents the increasingly sought-after category of modern analogue-era exotica, motorcycles desirable not simply for performance, but as limited-production pieces of Italian design and engineering that collectors may increasingly regard as works of mechanical art.
