Jesmond insisted  I get an independent assessment of the car and any repairs needed would be on him. I really couldn’t be any happier with the Mercedes, that I purchased. The car really is every bit as good as you described – actually, better. It is absolutely mint. Hi Jesmond, We met up with you in May 2017 to view the low mileage Imperial Maroon Mk2 Jaguar 3.4 which you had for sale at the time (advertised in a Car magazine as ‘The Loveable Rogue’) - which we subsequently purchased - photo attached. I have had a yearning to purchase a vintage or classic car for a number of years and have read Classic Car magazines and trolled internet auction sites until I came to the Waimak Classic Cars Web site. There was a certain classic car listed that was very close to marque and vintage of my first car I ever owned. It was early 50s English favourite. I contacted Jesmond by email as an initial inquiry and he responded promptly and gave me background of the vehicle in addition to what was described on the web site. Obviously an inspection was vital. With then roading problems between Marlborough and Canterbury a convenient time to visit Waimak was agreed given we decided to include a family visit to CHCH to coincide Jesmond was extremely flexible and agreed to meet us in Rangiora to take us to his display site. It certainly was a pleasure to meet both Jesmond and Gloria and it was clear from the outset we were dealing with very good honest and genuine people. We did not purchase the vehicle of initial choice. Whilst a lovely car heart was not where the head was. It just would not fit in my garages! After inspecting and admiring many fine examples we fell in love with a rare for NZ near finished restored 1947 Rover P2. The purchase including a service plus up to date warrant and registration was completed and Gloria arranged the transport of the vehicle to us here in Blenheim. I could not fault the professionalism coupled with warm friendly attitude of both Jesmond and Gloria and strongly commend them to anyone seeking a purchase and or sale of their classic car. I feel I must write to you a letter that you may like to put to your customers. As you know I missed on a couple of your cars because of a car I was selling . However a lovely looking car came up on trade me .It was in North Auckland. I rang the older owner and found he had brought the car off a neighbour, I asked him about any rust problems . He said any rust that was there had been cut out and repaired properly. It had just been re upholstered and as the paintwork was original he had only the mudguards resprayed. It had new tyres and new wheel cylinders and brakes relined.As it had been in storage for 8yrs it had to be certified. But where he lived he said would pose a problem for getting it to the testing station. He said would I get it done from my end. He said everything had been done and it would fly through.I said I would and got it Transported to Palmerston North. When it arrived the first thing the transporter driver said was be carefull it has very poor brakes. Then takingit up a small rise to get it into my garage the clutch was slipping badly. The paint was far from original and the mudgaurds had been sprayed with an aerosol can . These are just a few problems with the car. I rang the seller up told him how disapointed I was and said if I transport it back to him will he refund my money. He said no. As all the dealings I had with him were on the phone and nothing in writing. My hands were tied. Not all Trade Me sellers are honest. Make sure you go to Waimak Classic Cars who I know deal in quality cars.

Hi Jesmond, I don't know if I told you when we were corresponding that I am member of the South Canterbury Vintage Car Club. Last Saturday the club held one of its more important rallies of the year called the Mid Island Rally. I went in the Austin A55 and was one of about 68 vehicles that went on the run. It had a good showing of vehicles some old model Ts right through the years, the latest one being a 1964 mini. You name the brand of vehicle and it was there. Mine was the only Austin. We had good weather and I understand it was about 180 miles start to finish. It extended from Timaru through to Geraldine and then into a private forest. That was a bit challenging climbing up to the hilltops on roads only made for logging trucks. I was pleased to get back onto tarseal once we were on our way home. As usual I didn't get anywhere in the rally, thats not my luck. Prior to starting off from the Clubrooms they had a Concours display . About a dozen or perhaps eighteen vehicles went in it. I decided to put the A55 in the display. I don't know when the judging took place and we heard nothing until after the placegetters in the actual rally were announced. There was a table of Cups and Certificates being handed out . All went until only one big cup remained. I thought it won't be me because Ive never won one yet and next thing my name came up. I won the 2014 Concours Cup in my class which was (Post War Vintage) Every comment about the A55 on that day was good and she's going well. So there you have it Jesmond,I don't know if any other vehicles you've had have won Concours but now you know at least one has.

I recently purchased a vehicle from Jesmond and found the whole process to be a great experience. I found Jesmond to be a very obliging and forthright person to deal with and felt quite quickly, that he is a man of integrity.
